Codemasters je objavio da će izdati Colin McRae Rally 2005 za Xbox i PlayStation 2 na jesen.

Igra će sadržavati novi career mod i online igranje do 8 igrača. Career mod će od igrača zahtjevati da napreduju kroz više od 300 rally staza vozeći aute različitih klasa, uključujući 4-wheel drive, 2-wheel drive, 4-wheel classics, super 2-wheel, rear-wheel, distinctive, and 4x4 classics. Igra sadrži oko 30 vozila, uključujući Volkswagen Golf MK5, the Toyota Celica GT-Four, the Lancia Stratos, the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, the Alfetta GTV Turbodelta, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII, the Peugeot 206, the 205 T16 Evo2, and the VW Beetle RSi. Svaki od auta će imati jedninstvena oštećenja. Lokacije na kojim ćete voziti uključuju Njemačku, Švedsku, Ameriku, Finsku, Australiju, Španjolsku, Grčku, Japan i Veliku Britaniju.
